Despite his issues, Timber revealed that manager Mikel Arteta was aware of his problems and still decided to play him in crucial matches, including the two-legged tie against eventual champions PSG.
Timber has since undergone surgery to address his ongoing injuries, which has put his pre-season preparations in jeopardy.
He shared his struggles: “It got worse and worse. I had a scan, and the conclusion was that I needed surgery at the end of the season. I wanted to play for Arsenal, but it was challenging. Sometimes the pain was unbearable. I only trained one day before a match. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish the season because I couldn't even run.
However, I got adrenaline in the second half, and in the 80th minute, I knew it was time to stop. I hadn't trained for weeks and was worried about the next semifinal match. It was very painful. The manager thought I was ready, but he didn't see the extent of my pain."
