The match will be officiated by German referee Felix Zwayer, who has a complex past. In 2006, Zwayer was suspended for six months after being investigated for taking a bribe from fellow official Robert Hoyzer. Hoyzer was later banned for life for his involvement in a match-fixing plot. Zwayer cooperated with the authorities and reported Hoyzer's scheme, which may have contributed to his relatively short ban.
Zwayer has since officiated several high-profile games, including Arsenal's Champions League semi-final defeat to Paris St-Germain and England's Euro 2024 semi-final win over the Netherlands. He will be joined by other experienced referees at the Europa League and Champions League finals.
Bosnian referee Irfan Peljto will take charge of Chelsea's Conference League final against Real Betis on 28 May in Wroclaw, Poland, while Romanian Istvan Kovacs will officiate the Champions League final between PSG and Inter Milan on 31 May in Munich, Germany.
