According to the police, the car was able to follow an ambulance onto Water Street after the roadblock was temporarily lifted to allow the ambulance to attend to a person having a suspected heart attack. The injured people were taken to the hospital, with 11 still receiving treatment. Fortunately, all are in a stable condition.
The police have stated that there was no intelligence suggesting a similar incident would occur and have ruled out terrorism as a motive.
