Minteh said, “I was happy to score a goal because it’s what I strive for every time I play. If I don’t score, I try to make a good pass. It’s an incredible feeling to prove my former team wrong and show them what I can do.”
Newcastle signed Minteh as a young player but later sold him to balance their finances. They made a profit of £26 million from the sale. However, Minteh has since become a thorn in their side, scoring twice against them this season.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe acknowledged Minteh’s skills and the potential challenges he posed to his team. Howe said, “We knew about Minteh’s left foot and worked on it, but it can still be a problem for us.”
